Société Réaliste is a Parisian cooperative created by Ferenc Gróf (Hungary) and Jean-Baptiste Naudy (France) in 2004. It works with political design, experimental economy and social engineering. It develops its production schemes through exhibitions, publications and conferences.

“We agree with the idea of Europe if Japan is Europe, if Alaska is Europe.”

The cooperative’s projects deconstruct the idea of Europe as nationalist, inbred, far from geographical and political reality. In exchange, Société Réaliste proposes radical cosmopolitanism.

Société Réaliste's is currently developping its exhibition project "Empire, State, Building", launched in February 2011 at Jeu de Paume, Paris, and to be finished at Ludwig Museum, Budapest, in the Spring 2012. The cooperative has recently presented its work in monographic exhibition in Ljubljana (Skuc Gallery), Munich (Platform3), Budapest (kisterem), Berlin (uqbar) or London (Hold&Freight). It has participated in numerous collective exhibitions, including in 2010: the 2nd Rennes Biennial or shows at Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella, Italy), Mŭcsarnok/Kunsthalle (Budapest) or SFAI (San Francisco); and in 2009 it participated in the Biennials of Istanbul, Athens and Lyon.
