Montse Badía is a curator, art critic and historian based in Barcelona. She is co-founder and co-director of A*DESK. Instituto Independiente de Crítica y Arte Contemporáneo  (Independent Institute of Criticism and Contemporary Art), an institution dedicated to learning, publishing and research related to the criticism of contemporary art, and artistic director of Cal Cego. Contemporary Art Collection, which aim is not only to collect art (currently Cal Cego’s collection consists of circa 400 works of art), but also to support artistic research and to popularize the knowledge about modern art.

Montse Badía has contributed to different art magazines such as Transversal, arts.zin, Untitled, Nu: The Nordic Art Review, Tema Celeste and Bonart. She has curated exhibitions in De Appel Foundation (Amsterdam), Apexart (New York), Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlin), Fundació "la Caixa" (Barcelona), Fundación Telefónica and Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid). She has been associated curator in Espai 13 - Fundació Miró (Barcelona) and Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona). Among others, she has curated exhibitions by David Shrigley, Peter Liversidge, Dora García, Jill Magid, Luis Bisbe, Antonio Ortega, Peter Land, Jens Haaning, Francesc Ruiz, Alicia Framis, Claude Closky and Simon Starling.

As a participant of the European Culture Congress Montse Badía will contribute to the exhibition 10x10 as a curator recommended by Dorota Monkiewicz.
