The Congress will take place in the Centennial Hall complex, in the northeastern part of Wrocław:

  • to the international airport - 13 km
  • main rail and bus station - 4 km
  • A4 highway - 18 km
  • Grunwaldzki Square – 2 km

A special bus line will be set up in Wrocław during the European Culture Congress (September 8th-10th) which will run from the city centre to the Centennial Hall. Changes will also be made to the regular public transport schedules in Wrocław.

September 8, 2011 (Thursday)
S1 (special bus line)

Route: Świdnicka – Kazimierza Wielkiego – pl. Dominikański – Oławska – pl. Społeczny –Grunwaldzki bridge – Reagan Roundabout (platform 4) – Skłodowskiej Curie –Zwierzyniecki bridge – Mickiewicza – Wystawowa – Hala Stulecia (Centennial Hall)
Hala Stulecia (Centennial Hall) – Wróblewskiego –Zwierzyniecki bridge– Skłodowskiej Curie – Reagan Roundabout (platform 3) – pl. Grunwaldzki –Grunwaldzki bridge – pl. Społeczny – Oławska – pl. The line, in the direction of the Centennial Hall, will run every 20 minutes from 17:00 till 19:00.

The line to Wrocław centre will run every 7,5 minutes from 22:00 till 1:00.

Moreover schedules of tram lines 1, 2, 4, and 10 from the Biskupin terminus will be extended till 0:40 (last tram) – trams will run every 20 minutes.

In addition, the Centennial Hall can be reached by busses E, 145, and 146 from Wrocław centre and by bus 115 from plac Grunwaldzki and by the following trams:
Line 1 from Marino terminus and Dworzec Nadodrze
Line 2 from Krzyki terminus and pl. Dominikański
Line 4 from Oporów terminus and pl. Dominikański
Line 10 from ul. Legnicka and pl. Dominikański

The Group F show scheduled at the Słodowa Island will lead to changes to city traffic system from 20:00 till 22:00. The following streets will be closed for both cars and trams:
Drobnera street from pl. Bema until Łokietka street.
Uniwersytecki bridge
Given the above tram traffic will run via temporary routes (without schedule changes): ul. Jana Pawła II, Sikorskiego bridge, ul. Dubuis, ul. Łokietka, and ul. Chrobrego while bus traffic (lines C and 128) will be redirected, in both directions, through ul. Łokietka, ul. Trzebnicka, ul. Słowiańska, ul. Jedności Narodowej and ul. Poniatowskiego.

You can reach the Centennial Hall by trams no.: 1, 2, 4, 10 (no. 2 and 4 stop at the rail/bus station) and city buses no.: 115, 139, 145, 146, E (no. 145 and 146 stop at the rail/bus station). The aforementioned lines reach most of the crucial points in the city, so you can reach the Centennial Hall from basically any part of Wrocław. The price of public transport tickets is as follows: single-ride ticket within city limits: 2.40 PLN (reduced fare: 1.20 PLN), 24-hour ticket: normal price: 8.00 PLN, reduced fare: 4.00 PLN. Tickets can be bought at ticket machines located near bus and tram stops around the city.

There are a few ways to reach the Centennial Hall from the Mikołaj Kopernik Airport (http://www.airport.wroclaw.pl):

If you’re driving towards Wrocław on the A4 highway, you need to follow the signs for Warsaw, and after crossing the distinctive Grunwaldzki Bridge (http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_Grunwaldzki_%28Wroc%C5%82aw%29) turn right and head onto Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego; after about 1 km, take a right towards the Zwierzyniecki Bridge, and about 500 m after crossing it the Centennial Hall will be visible on the left.

If you’re driving from Poznań, you need to head towards downtown Wrocław and then follow the signs for Warsaw. After crossing the Grunwald Bridge, turn right and head onto Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego; after about 1 km, take a right towards the Zwierzyniec Bridge, and about 500 m after crossing it the Centennial Hall will be visible on the left

If you’re driving from Warsaw, you need to go through the city and follow the signs for Krakow, and then take a left on Grunwald Square – follow the signs for Oława. After about 1 km, you will reach the Zwierzyniec Bridge. Cross it, and after about 500 m, you will see the Centennial Hall on your left.
