Maciej Wiśniewski is a political scientist and a journalist. He has lived in Mexico since 2001. It was around that time that he conducted his first interview with Zygmunt Bauman; they have been exchanging letters ever since. As a contributor to Tygodnik Powszechny and the Polish edition of Le Monde Diplomatique his main area of interest is South America. In Mexico, he publishes for the daily La Jornada. He is a human rights activist.
