The association established by Piotr Stasik and Marta Białek-Graczyk has been running socio-cultural projects all over Poland, its goal is to increase the participation of citizens in public life and encourage local societies to become active in culture. As the saying goes, teaching someone to fish is better than giving them a fish, therefore, instead of giving people ready-made solutions, the association tries to give them logistical assistance, tools necessary to accomplish the task, and teaches them creative thinking. “ę” also teaches young people, culture operators, and senior citizens how to launch their own projects. Thanks to these efforts, the results are more permanent, one could even say that they take on a life of their own.

„We want to create a world, where people passionately work towards the betterment of themselves and others.”

Among the association’s most important projects we have: “Zoom in on Culture Centers” and “Reanimator,” both aimed at culture operators in Warsaw, “Seniors in Action,” which was supposed to activate senior citizens, “For tolerance”, which promoted action supporting tolerance and was ran jointly with The Stefan Batory Foundation, and “Young Managers of Culture,” aimed at youth.
The „ę” association is also engaged in education – running movie, photography, and design workshops; it also runs a small publishing office, releasing books and movies promoting social causes and good practices in culture.

The association has a staff of 15: culture operators, sociologists, photographers, and movie directors, aged 19 to 35.

During the European Culture Congress, „ę” will run the „Idea Generator” project.
