A director of Empowerplant, an Amsterdam-based company specializing in events and media for sustainable change. He makes documentary films, writes, conceptualises events and presents debates and conferences. His areas of interest include social use of information and communications technologies, journalism and international organisations.

Rindert de Groot is an editor of various videos on international affairs for Worldconnectors and others (2007-now). In 2010 he made films for social media during the electoral campaign GroenLinks (Green party). He was an editor-in-chief of MTV Coolpolitics, a series of 11 political debates at pop festivals and 13 short reports on election themes, broadcasted on MTV Netherlands (2005-2007) and a coordinator of the “I Love Politics Europe” project, a series of election after-parties in Belgrade, Amsterdam and Warsaw - for Coolpolitics organization. (2004). He was involved in European Union-funded ICT innovation programme EUTIST-AMI (2002-2003).
