In the context of the 10x10 project Karel Císař, a curator based in Praque, will present works by Eva Koťátková, Ján Mančuška and artistic duo Prinz Gholam, whose works works explore micropolitics of everyday.

Eva Koťátková investigates personal space, everyday actions and situations, and the relationship between people and their surroundings. Through live interventions in given spaces, and sculptural constructions probed by the artist, Koťátková examines common contemporary gestures and rituals.

Ján Mančuška’s works rethink the transition from conceptual to post-conceptual artistic practice, enabling him to define himself with respect to both practices and to pass freely among various media while remaining sharply focused on a limited set of problems concerning the possibility of mutual understanding and of self-comprehension.

In the video work “Ein Ding mehr“ (2006) artistic duet Prinz Gholam presents a series of postures rooted in painting, sculpture, dance, and film, reflecting on the reduction of the body to the status of a commodity.

The Prinz Gholam’s performance “EKOGPMCFAeD” (2010) will be presented at the vernissage of the 10x10 exhibition, on September 8, at 7 pm.
